    About

VakeelKerala.com is envisioned as Kerala’s foremost digital legal consulting platform — a purpose-built marketplace that connects individuals, families, businesses, and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) with verified, reputed lawyers across every district of the state. The platform addresses a critical gap in the Kerala legal ecosystem: the absence of a trustworthy, Kerala-centric online resource where people can find qualified advocates who understand the region’s unique laws, court systems, and cultural sensitivities.

Unlike generic national legal platforms that treat Kerala as just another pin on a map, VakeelKerala.com is designed from the ground up for Keralites — whether they reside in the state or anywhere in the world. Every aspect of the platform, from the lawyer verification process to multilingual support in Malayalam, English, Hindi, and Tamil, reflects the needs and expectations of our target audience.

    Mission
    Vision

To connect every person in Kerala — and every Keralite abroad — with verified, experienced, and reputed lawyers for any legal need, making quality legal assistance just a click or call away.

To make quality legal assistance accessible, affordable, and trustworthy for every individual and business across all 14 districts of Kerala, transforming the way legal services are discovered and delivered in the state.

    Why Choose us

    Why Choose VakeelKerala

Every advocate on our platform undergoes a rigorous verification process. We validate Bar Council enrollment, confirm practicing credentials, check professional track records, and gather peer references. Only lawyers who meet our rigorous quality standards are accepted onto our internal panel. Lawyer details are never displayed publicly on the website — they are shared privately with clients only after a matched inquiry is submitted through the ‘Talk to a Lawyer’ inquiry form

What is the Marumakkathayam system and does it still apply?

Marumakkathayam was a matrilineal system of inheritance among Nairs and some other communities in Kerala where property descended through the female line. While legally abolished, pre-Act rights and disputes over ancestral properties governed by this system still arise.

Yes. Following the 2005 amendment to the Hindu Succession Act (reinforced by the Supreme Court in 2020), daughters have equal coparcenary rights in Hindu joint family property, including the right to seek partition.

An HUF is a legal entity recognised under Hindu law comprising all persons lineally descended from a common ancestor, along with their wives and unmarried daughters. HUF has distinct tax and property implications.

When a Hindu dies intestate (without a will), property is divided according to the Hindu Succession Act. Class I heirs (spouse, sons, daughters, mother) inherit equally. If no Class I heirs exist, Class II heirs inherit.
